The first National Park of the United States and it is also a super volcano! Yellowstone has famous sites such as Old Faithful Geyser, the Prismatic Pools, and Yellowstone Falls (pictured adjacent). The University of Wyoming provides students with the opportunity to take an excursion to Yellowstone over a weekend in September.
If you go there there should be some fantastic colors on the trees as fall sets in at Yellowstone. You could see bears, moose, bison or any of the many diverse species of animals at Yellowstone! Yellowstone is truly a unique place in the world and you are sure to get some beautiful photos, and memorable experiences! Students will be able to spend a night in the park itself in a cabin nestled in the wilderness.
The excursion will also take you to the Grand Teton National Park! Another fantastic area of natural beauty in Wyoming. This area has alpine terrain, extraordinary wildlife and beautiful trails.
The cost of the excursion is around $375 which includes your transportation and accommodation in Cody, Wyoming, a cabin in Yellowstone, and in Jackson, Wyoming. Along with some breakfasts included with the hotel.

The University of Wyoming runs an excursion to Mount Rushmore in the Spring semester. Mount Rushmore is a famous US National monument. It features the engravings of four US Presidents, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln, surrounded by the beauty of the Black Hills of South Dakota. Get ready to learn more about their stories and how important these people whee in the story of the United States.
The trip will also stop at Devils Tower. This is a unique geographic feature which is considered sacred by Native Americans. You may have seen it in various Hollywood movies. This is a fantastic excursion which offers international students to explore some unique features of the United States.
Expect the total cost for this excursion to be around $250.

Denver is the capital city of our neighboring State - Colorado. Denver is a big city and there is so much to see and do. Perhaps you like concerts, sports or shopping? Take the Groome bus from Laramie and explore Denver with some friends on the weekend.

Many of you will travel to Laramie via Denver. There should be ample opportunity for you to return and spend some time in an urban environment before returning to Wyoming.
Fort Collins is a city in Northern Colorado. It is located about 64 miles (102km) south of Laramie. Downtown Fort Collins provided the inspiration for Downtown Disney. Students like to visit Fort Collins for the atmosphere and shopping as well as the variety of international food which can be found at the local restaurants.
Fort Collins is home to Fort Fun! Fort Fun is an excellent entertainment destination. You can play mini-golf, laser tag, drive go-karts or even try the escape room! Also, there is an arcade in Fort Collins.
Afterward, why not go on a hike around the Horsetooth Reservoir? The scenery is spectacular!
